Chief Rabbi [Chief Rabbi] noun
the main Jewish religious leader in a particular country. The British Chief Rabbi is usually considered a representative of all the Jews in Britain, although he is only officially responsible for the Orthodox branch of the Jewish religion. There is no Chief Rabbi in the US.
